Wading in Big Shoes

Some people just get you.

The blog Wading in Big Shoes is showing us some blogosphere love. It's a Michigan centric blog with fun writing and great photography.
You can check out the full piece here.  For now, here's a snippet...

You guys. There’s a solution for people like me us—okay, me—that want the pretty, wrapped look at an “I just threw this in a bag” effort level. It’s called enfold reusable gift wrap, and it’s made right here in Michigan! Based in Grand Rapids and sewn in Lansing, enfold wraps are made of high-quality fabric and don’t require any tape, scissors, or measuring. All you have to do is choose your preferred wrap size (large or medium), insert your gift, fold the fabric like you would any other paper gift wrap, then tie the ends together with the attached ribbon. It’s so easy, I was seriously able to wrap a box with no mishaps on my very first try. If, for some reason, you’re a horrible present wrapper and still don’t think you can manage, there are step-by-step instructions in the box as well as in the video below (also viewable here). Long story short, anyone can use these—and they look awesome!

Reusable Gift Wrap - Many Options

Did you know there are many options available for reusable gift wrap? One of our 'ens' or goals here at enfold is to see garbage reduction as a whole, especially when it's associated with gift giving. We love that there are others making that possible as well. While we've made every effort to make a product that has as many applications to a wide range of users, we realize a different product may fit your needs or aesthetic even better. Check out what's available!

GG Wrap

GG Wrap

GG Wrap is a new one. Their gift wraps use a rigid structure with a ribbon tie and are also reversible. They currently have a Kickstarter campaign going to raise funds for production. We wish them the best!

lilywrap

lilywrap

Lilywrap is a stretchy fabric with a built in drawstring ribbon and is available in several fabric choices. They have a customizable option as well. Very cool.

Lyziwraps

Lyziwraps

Lyziwraps are fun colorful fabrics with ribbon on each end that you cinch shut and a pocket to hold a card. They are also available in several sizes.

Box Sox

Box Sox

Box Sox is another option. They come in a variety of prints and sizes and like what's available from lilywrap, have a little stretch to them. And like the others, they also have an attached ribbon.

The list wouldn't be complete without sharing our own options as well. Our (enfold) gift wraps come in two sizes and fit a variety of gifts from books to shoe boxes (even a basketball). They come in a few fabric choices - right now, hand screened organic cotton and reversible seersucker but more are on the way.

With all the various reusable gift wrap options available, we hope that you will be able to find something that will work for your next gift giving occasion. All keep paper and ribbon out of the garbage can, all have the necessary supplies for wrapping included, and all will save you tons of time compared with traditional wrapping paper.

Lady Gaga sings Sound of Music

We love being surprised! Lady Gaga's performance at the Oscar's of classics from the Sound of Music (in front of Julie Andrews!!) took many by surprise. This is the best kind too - it was because of talent and class - not the typical wrecking ball manner of shock. Yes, it was outside of her normal routine, but it was also utilizing talent that was always there in a new way. It left many thinking, I had no idea she...

We also love Ariana Grande singing Imogen Heap. Just her in a room with a mic, skillfully using a sampler. Preconceived notions have to be set aside and it's awesome! It's also worth checking out:

Both point to a greater lesson of letting people be more than what our prejudices have already pegged for them. Surprising, unexpected and a little different. It's who we are and what we celebrate.
